Purpose of the Job:

The Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) role is responsible for creating long-term relationships with Aramex’s portfolio of global clients. The role seeks to understand the customer’s demands, plans how to meet those demands and generates sales for the company as a result. Aramex uses the GKAM role to go beyond a traditional transactional approach and focuses on establishing a mutually beneficial relationship that grows over time.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Works with Aramex Senior Leadership team to develop strategies resulting in greater customer experience and performance
    • Identify opportunities to strengthen the relationship with key account through value impact on the customer’s operations, among others through cost optimization, on-time delivery and value added solutions
    • Drive and accelerate business results by investing in continuous improvement on the people, process and technology front and adopting best in class practices and trends
    • Develop trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customers and executive members
    • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly / quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
    • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of Aramex solutions according to our customers objectives / timelines / expectations
    • Forecast and track key account metrics and develop reports on a monthly basis
    • Collaborate with Aramex product / service leaders to identify and grow new opportunities within territories
    • Achieve and exceed revenue and gross profit targets of assigned accounts
    • Create an environment that encourages a high-performance culture to emerge
    • Build and strengthen internal capabilities through learning and development interventions, to bridge gaps in skills and knowledge
    • Constantly create revenue generating channels from Cross Selling and Upselling streams
    • Ensure customers are using cost effective services channels and increase use of automation
    • Plan and execute regular maintenance and business development visits to customers
    • Provide customers with solutions fitted to their requirements and resolve their inquiries on time
    • Coordinate with credit collectors to monitor receivables and drive customers to pay as per SLA

Job Requirements (Experience and Education):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance or Psychology
  • Strong English language skills are required for this role; additional languages are preferred given the nature of this global role
  • 4-7 years experience in key account management within the logistics and transportation sector
  • Previous experience with multi-national preferred (US / Europe based highly regarded)
  • Practical experience with established sales methodologies (e.g. solution selling, value based selling, challenger sales)
  • Thorough understanding of global business, account management, transportation and logistics and financial acumen
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Highly developed negotiation, consensus building and communication skills
  • Strong strategic and business acumen
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for the business
