Data Analytics & Performance Enhancement
High Level Description
As Head of Data Analytics & Performance Enhancement, you will be responsible for delivering analytics solutions that meet the needs of all ME & Africa segments and markets. This will span multiple domains, including pricing and underwriting, network, sales & marketing, operations, customer reporting and more. Robust analytics solutions will help drive growth through meaningful insights and ensure Cigna continues to evolve and deliver world class experiences and solutions to our customers and partners.
You will report to the CFO for Cigna ME & Africa.
Understand all reporting we do in the organization today; all the data sources; all the strengths and weaknesses of our current approach.
Grow our organizational understanding of what the possibilities are, and how we can best leverage data to our advantage.
Develop a data governance and management strategy in order to ensure quality of reporting and analytics. Drive disciplined data management through active monitoring and by creating a culture of personal responsibility by embedding accountability into all personal goals/targets.
Identify opportunities to leverage better tools to enhance our efficiency and proficiency in reporting.
Proactively engage with MEA functional teams, as well as global counterparts to understand best practices, in order to design and execute on a roadmap for internal, partner, and client data and analytics solutions for the MEA business.
Ensure qualitative data-visualization, analysis and prototyping in service of the markets’ immediate needs.
Provide input to the central BI & reporting team in order to build the proper dashboards.
Leverage the new analytics platform (global team) as well as enhanced toolsets to embed analytics within our day-to-day business practices and decision-making, as well as into our culture and mind-set.
Evolve the way the business thinks about analytics and show how analytics can drive substantial value to our customers and clients
Collaborate with clients and partners to build relevant analytics solutions to meet shared business goals and objectives.
What does success look like?
Within 2 months MEA Exco understands the current view of analytics and the possibilities for improvement.
Within 3-4 months, there’s a roadmap to get from here to there.
Within 6 months, begin to see noticeable improvement in our ad-hoc analytical capabilities.
Within a year, decisions are consistently data-driven.
Approach internal and external stakeholders with coherent, actionable recommendations appropriate to their business needs
Continually provide analytic and business insights to address stakeholder gaps and/or opportunities, and to create value
Proactively identify data-driven issues and opportunities, and use the appropriate level analytic support to drive solutions
Understand the breadth of analytics related technologies and solutions and be able to recommend the most appropriate solution to meet the needs of the business and user
Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Develop best practice for templates and deliverables around the data used to deliver internal and external stakeholder analytic information
Educate internal and external stakeholders on analytic methods, shape their thinking and influence decision-making
Demonstrate a flexible approach to communication; adapt messages quickly to the appropriate level or function with poise and polish
Collaborate with central and other global analytics partners to evolve analytics roadmaps and to represent Europe and Global Segments in global analytics planning and initiatives
Gather input from many people and then prioritize the key items
Be able to navigate and succeed in a large global enterprise
Scalability & Delivery
Deliver scalable solutions that can be leveraged by multiple stakeholders
Design and implement analytics solutions that are scalable and can be used in the most efficient way by the end user
Ensure Cigna continues to innovate and delivers solutions that meets the needs of internal users, our customers, and our partners
What skills do you need?
10+ years of experience in analytics capacity driving business outcomes using data and analytics
Strong analytical capabilities and experience
Math, Computer science or related technical background + willingness to dive into technology details
Strong foundational skills with analytics software such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, SQL, Python and/or R
Experience in a complex, fast-paced, quantitative environment with a high bar for attention to detail and quality of work
Management and/or mentorship experience required
Excellent verbal and written executive communication skills and corporate agility
Fast learner and takes initiative
Strong passion for changing healthcare
