Our TOTAL SOLAR INTERNATIONAL hub in Dubai is seeking a Solar Business Developer to join our growing Middle East operations.
You will develop the portfolio of the area and will manage strong partnerships with the equity partners and source & deliver more Utility Scale Power Plant (UPP) development opportunities.
You will be involved in stakeholder management, Bid preparation, site identification, land agreements, selection and screening of sites, environmental assessments, permitting and financial close of solar projects. You will frequently collaborate with peers in other teams across the company in Dubai, Paris and internationally

As Business Developer you will:

  • Originate a pipeline for solar PV and storage projects development (green field, tenders and auctions etc)
  • Secure PPAs matching the pipeline development opportunities
  • Manage and perform the delivery and the sustainability of the pipeline (incl. through partnership)
  • Manage/supervise relationships with external stakeholders, including landowners, public entities, development or JV partners, local communities, advisors, EPC and O&M contractors etc.
  • Ensures economic viability of each project
  • Coordinates and be responsible of the work-streams (e.g. Project Finance & Economics, Operations, Legal, etc.)
  • Leads commercial negotiations and deal structuring with potential co-developers or investors
  • Drives the progress of each project by leading all necessary internal & external steps in the process
  • Keeps himself/herself fully informed on key market developments and industry news/events in order to quickly identify business opportunities
  • Work towards solar project opportunities and manage the development of solar projects
  • Ensuring HSQE procedures and managing health and safety legislation

Context and environment


Candidate profile

  • 5 year’s + project development management experience in the renewable energy sector
  • A degree in a relevant field, engineering, legal, business, planning or environmental for example
  • Experience in the business development of renewable energy projects and tenders in Middle East and in Oman
  • Ability to manage and delivery projects programs and budgets
  • Experience working with a multinational company
  • Flexibility to travel internationally when the need arises
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
  • Good team working and team management skills
  • Fluent English, French and Arabic
